Hakka Yong tau foo

What do you call this thin egg noodle?
The stall calls it Hakka Mee. It's like a skinny mee pok 😊
客家麺?
Isn't it the name of the food? I'm always not sure how to order the noodle I want😆. Especially when I eat fishball noodle, Yon Ton Fu.
Oh, Yong tau foo. Sorry.
Haha yes it's the name of the dish too. Just think of Italian lah : Mee pok is fettuccine, Mee Kia is spaghettini. Mee is like fat spaghetti. Bee hoon is angel hair.
In this case, the name of the dish = the kind of noodle's name? That doesn't happen in Italian, isn't it?
I'd thought Mee = 麺. So that Bee hoon is also included in Mee. Bee hoon is made of rice like 河粉, isn't it? 河粉 can't be Mee?
Too complicated, never mind.😊
What do you call the yellow noodle used in 福建麺? The thicker one. The thinner one must be Bee hoon, right?
Haha yes Mee = 麵 that's the generic for all kinds of noodles. 河粉 usually refers to flat rice noodles of varying widths. Yellow Mee the thick round ones is usually just called Mee. Complicated because Singaporean Chinese mix up mandarin Cantonese and hokkien names for the different noodles.
Oh, must be difficult for me to get used to ordering the dish I want. lol.
