A Mediterranean twist to the Japanese Oyakodon 「親子丼」

Sautéed onions, chicken breast cubes, green peppers and tomatoes (fresh & purée) together.

Spiced up the mix with a pinch of salt, pepper, cinnamon and turmeric and to give it a little kick added some fresh lemon juice and topped with a cup of water for thorough cooking.

Reduced the water until the mix turned into a moist but creamy stew and for the finale added a beating egg on top and let it cook thoroughly.

This is nice to serve on top of rice like the Japanese 'Donburi' dish (rice bowl served with a topping) , a twist to the version known as "Oyakodon" (parent and child rice bowl, an intended pun on chicken and egg).
It goes well paired with strained yoghurt, raw onions or fresh green salad.
