British pork pie with piccalilli

レシピ
材料・調味料
Cauliflower,chopped into small pieces
Green beans,chopped
Onion,chopped
Chili,chopped finely
Mustard seeds
Mustard powder(yellow)
Turmeric(same amount as mustard seeds)
Vinegar
Sugar
Salt
Flour
Water
Cornstarch
Curry powder
作り方
1
Just stir and mix everything together in a pot,add water to almost covering the top of the mixture, bring to boil, stirring all the time to avoid lumps form, continue boiling quickly for a few minutes til liquid reduce a little, adjust consistency with cornstarch water if too thin, add water if too thick,(but bear in mind it will thicken more when cooled),turn off heat, adjust seasoning now(tart>sweet>savory).it doesn't matter if cauliflower still raw,it will continue to cook while it cools, vegetables don't have to be cooked through anyway.

When it comes to pies, the Brits could never rival the French, but I am always affectionate about British food!I have this pie cold which is traditionally eaten, with my home made pickled called piccalilli, also Britain's own, made with things like cauliflower, green bean, turmeric and mustard.

Glad you like this pork pie!!Thx!
Hi Makiko San,this is a British style pastry, using lard and butter and mixed with boiling water.I have never used this type when I do all the French pies. And I never had this for main course,I think it's best suitable for snack or tea time, and if you like, for breakfast too!
Always appreciate kind wo
words!
英國給豬肉的房子只有一層高,來到香港,希望讓它們住得愜意一點,才建了一所兩屬高的給它們。
This is incredible love it !
すごく食べたいです!薄いサクサク感のある生地と中身の食感、たまらないでしょうね😋
Sorry for making comment with a time difference.but I can't silently overlook this pie!😍👍💕This is one of memorable food in my mind. It's not identical, but I ate similar pie when I traveled Glasgow.mine more shorter than yours, but same filling.
It was amazingly impressive,I still remember the taste or
or texture.but I liked very much!!British pie dough too far from French pie,but I never think it's inferior than French pie.i like kneaded pie dough too😋 needless to say your pie or rustic table coordinate is flawless✨✨But I'm not familiar with piccalilli..Is it usual thing to serve with pie in UK?
Combination of materials are sounds so tasty!

Pork pie....compared to other British food, actually only just ok for me.But this snack was cheap, easy to get when I was hungry.Amazing, you know this is kneaded! This is th
the first time I made,so I find out this pie crust is very different from the French, this is half butter half lard, adding boiling water and kneaded,I knew there was a difference when I ate it in UK,but these are the things that make it traditionally British,I wouldn't say which is better, but I misse
missed this one from UK,so I decided to make it!That's right, you were in Glasgow and you had this there, must be an authentic one then!I wanted to make it interesting looking so had them put in a taller mold, just for fun.
I always ate this straight as a snack, grab and go,I only found out later this c
could be eaten with piccalilli, and it's much better I can tell you.I've made this British pickle before, but only this time my own method, simply just mix everything(raw),together with flour, spices, seasoning etc and boil quickly,I had the best result like this, super fast too, just minutes!I think picca
piccalilli is just one of the things you could eat with pork pie,and piccalilli could eat with many things too like cold cuts, sausages, chop it up and spread it in a sandwich too...it's definitely worth trying!
Pork pie;) yummmmmmm♡
Wow,I learned something good!
I've been curious that why the British pie's texture different with American one, even both are made from same ingredients and same method.I found the reason is boiling water from your mention. It's so interesting!Thank you for telling me that😊Btw,I really want to make pi
piccalilli, could you tell me spices that you used? I could understood the method from your explanation,I'm OK just spice's name🙇🙏only when you have spare time...

I took too much time making pork pie,so I thought of a quick piccalilli, and it's the best method!I have add a recipe, again no measurement, everything is boiled quickly(turn up heat!),this will retain freshness and crunchiness,so the amount of everything should be almost precise, because you can't use
too much time to adjust, especially water level, you should be good enough to judge!Again this is boiled quickly, moisture is not completely drawn out,so I guess this don't keep too long, please make small batch. There are many version but this is the one I used this time, please look it up if you want mo
more varieties of veggies!Different spices are used for this,so I just add a little curry powder and it has everything!
