rickさんのSnapDishがステキだったので、ウォルドーフ・サラダという、耳慣れない料理を初めて作りました。

リンゴ、セロリ、チキン、胡桃入り、ゴルゴンゾーラは無かったので、ナシです。

紫キャベツのマントも、rickさんのアイデアをいただきました。

Your snap of Waldorf salad was so impressive, so I made this for the first time.

Actually, I've never heard of the name, and have no idea why do they call it "Waldorf" salad!

There was no Gorgonzola in my fridge, mine was a little mild.

Using purple cabbage is your idea. It's nice and looks beautiful.

Awesome,Izoom san,very beautiful indeed,thank you for trying this salad,it's my childhood food,but with celery,apple walnut,it even suits adults better,so delicious with or without blue cheese!I added for a variation.
The red leaves I used were actually radicchio,a bitter lettuce from Italy,I was intending to buy butter lettuce but all sold out,so I grabbed them.It turned out well,colour was striking.Red cabbage also works well here,I love it!
About the name,I think it was the Waldorf Hotel in New York this salad originate from,been around for a long time!
I always enjoy looking at your posts,you are such a perfectionist,you could make an excellent food artist!

One more thank you for tell me about the origin of the name.

I know the hotel. It's famous and luxury. I've been N.Y. long time ago, stayed in another badget one. Couldn't afford Waldorf !!

You are welcome!The radicchio we have here is locally grown,if we could grow,I don't see why Japanese couldn't do a better job,may be it's still not in demand yet.
Nice,you've been in NY,I have yet to go.When it come to hotels,I am with you ,I opt for budget ones,I don't spend much time in there anyway!
