Isn't it delicious?Mochi rice with unagi and gobo stuffed inside,wrapped with bamboo leaves and steamed,that gotta be good! So this is from a famous place?Did you mail order it?At first I thought you made it... I seasoned the rice with soy sauce after cooked,it seems like this one is drizzled on after steamed.And this also used 白焼 instead of 蒲焼,I guess this is most authentic!That's good information! Also nicely wrapped this one,the things they used seems top quality! The origin is still unknown to me,so it's from Nagano,it's nice to know! I didn't know ちび隊長 San had a post with this,let me check it out,I miss her food! So are you having summer holiday?I know a few typhoons hitting Japan,are they affecting you? Congrats to you Japanese doing so well at the Olympics!I am especially happy the men relay 4x100 team getting silver medal,beating US,that's so incredible.Can't wait for the Tokyo Olympics!
I have been in Japan during summer time,I find it unbearable too,especially I have to stay outside when traveling.Although I miss Japan,I still haven't set dates for Japan trips,I am going to Europe for 2 weeks in October,so I couldn't take too much time off... I have never been to Kyoto during sakura time,I will plan for this one! Let's see if we could meet up!

笹の葉の香りがとっても良いし、鰻は白焼き風で香ばしいのにふっくらしている。蒸してるからかな。とっても美味しかったです。

さて、この笹蒸しは、長野県の有名なお店のものをちび隊長が取り寄せたものです。ちび隊長は随分前にSnapDishに投稿するのをやめてしまったけど、私たちは今でも連絡を取り合っているし、互いの家を行き来する友達です。週末の二泊三日で彼女の家に遊びに行って、楽しく過ごしたよ☺️
もっちりした食感のもち米と、蒸した鰻がとても良く合うね!リックのオリジナルは更に工夫もあって、このお店のものとはまた違った美味しさがありそう。
北海道や関東地方に被害が出ているけど、関西は影響なく、どちらかと言えば猛暑で大変💧
日本の夏は年々暑くなっていて、この季節には観光するのは辛いと思うので、来日するなら気候の良い季節を選ぶほうが良いね。
また日本で会えるのを楽しみにしています。
