Chao Tom/grilled shrimp on sugarcane

みんなの投稿 (6)
Something that I love to eat when I was a kid,but rarely see them in restaurants these days.
Also Vietnamese lotus tea, gift from a friend.
漫画で見る、骨つき肉のようですね!(´∀`)
真ん中の棒は何ですか?
ネギかな、レモングラスかな、牛蒡かな。
この写真、海外の料理雑誌みたいでとても素敵です。

Comic book?Must be food related!
Actually this is a traditional dish from Vietnam, prawn paste is wrapped around sugarcaneサトウキビ,there's where sugar come from, and rum too!The sugarcane itself is not eaten, but the centre of prawn paste does pick up a little sweetness after cooked.I think it's interesting food!I am sure many other things could substitute, lemongrass,牛篣 is fantastic idea, even a piece of bone!I love skewered grill food!
Thank you for you kind comments always!
extremely beautiful!!!!!!
There is elegant mood✨
meanwhile,it has rustic mood too🌿 Oh,sorry...I mentioned photo itself before about dishes. because I really liked this pics😁 French antique plate really suit on Vietnamese cuisine!
So it's your favorite food since childhood,Maybe that's filled with nostalgic memories. I grew up with animation which called ギャートルズ. Bony chops were typical item in that anime.I was yearning for primitive food. Even shrimp paste, this looks remind me at that times😁 I think Makiko san same as me😏

Oh it's alright, sometimes I put lots of effort in the photo itself too, comments are welcome!
Yes you are right,French plate are suited well with Vietnamese food, but this one is from England, very similar style though.
This really is my good memory food from childhood, one of the first Vietnamese dish I savored,it's been so long I had these, they never show up in the menus these day,so I decided to make them myself, another
dish I learned!I also found out this is supposed to be grilled rather then deep fried, which they do in HK.
I have seen that meat skewered on bone too,I thought it is a fun idea, but I didn't know there is a story behind it,now I know!We are all attached with our childhood thing!
