Crab pepper soup

Ingredients:


Any Crab Variety-2 Medium-sized Crabs

Shallots-10(chopped)

Shallots-5 to grind with roasted ingredients

Tomato-1(chopped)

Garlic Cloves-5(Crushed)

Ginger Garlic Paste-2 tsp

Turmeric Powder-1/4 tsp

Salt As Required

Water-500 ml


To Roast And Grind:


Red Dried Chillies-3

Black Peppercorns-1 tsp

Coriander Seeds-1 tsp

Cumin Seeds-1 tsp


For Seasoning:


Oil-3 tsp

Fennel Seeds-1 tsp

Curry Leaves-2 sprigs

Method:


Clean the crabs and break each into two pieces.

In a pan roast the given items under 'To Roast And Grind'

Let it cool and blend it in a blender without adding water.

Add shallots to them and grind without adding water and keep it aside.

In a pressure cooker heat oil and temper with fennel seeds and curry leaves.

Add chopped shallots and crushed garlic and saute for two minutes.

Add ginger-garlic paste and saute until the raw smell goes off.

Add chopped tomatoes and saute till it becomes soft.

Add Grabs and turmeric powder and saute for a minute and add required water.

Mix well and let it boil for 3 minutes.

Add grounded paste and mix.

Close the cooker with its lid and leave it for 5 whistles and simmer it for 5 min.

Wait till the pressure releases and serve it in a soup bowl by adding chopped coriander leaves.

If you wish you can add freshly grounded pepper before serving.
