It's not winter for me without eating this,and nothing represent Cantonese comfort food more.These Chinese cured fatty sausage are really delicious,the lighter one,made with pork,is a little similar to salami,and the darker one made with duck liver is my favorite.The extremely aromatic oil from the
one of my mom's friend came from Taiwan used to cook this sausage!!
(I guess this sausage looks similar as
her's) isn't it taste a little bit sweet & smells like 八角 something?!
anyway,your dish looks sooo yummy!!

To: raycheal thank you!The Taiwanese sausage looks and tastes similar but not the same thing.The Taiwanese is fresh and Cantonese is dried,both sweet in taste with 八角and other spices,but the Cantonese had the very distinct 玫瑰露酒(made from rose)flavour.Overall the Taiwanese is milder and could be eat
To: raycheal eaten on its own but the Cantonese is better eaten with rice.I also love the Taiwanese ones,I alway buy these charcoal grilled at night markets,super yummie stuff!

To: makooo thank you!That's right,my ultimate Cantonese winter dish,the topping could be changed,but rice cooked with clay pot is very special to me!Also the sausage is used in a lot of Cantonese dishes,it's big part of our food culture.You have to try this when you come!
