Several years ago I went to Kamakura,I had my mind set to go to the famous 'Oxymoron' for lunch, but back in those days, there were no iPhone or google map,and after long time of searching for it's location,I had to give up.Up to this day I still haven't make it back to Kamakura. So when I saw 'Oxymoron''s cookbook,I bought it immediately, hoping to have a glimpse of what kind of curry it serves. There are many unique and interesting recipes in the book, but since ちぽ San had picked this one to make,I guess it must be good. The original is more like a Thai style with some Japanese herbs mixed in,I stick with all Thai herbs, because they are much cheaper, but I am sure those Japanese ones would be wonderful here too!
it's amazing that you made my favorite shop's best of curry(^^) I really agree sometimes it's difficult to get those herbs when I cook the foreign recipes... it's just an aside but I'll go Kamakura during this morning to pick up my hubby's new MTB so I tried to get reserved Oxymoron 'Onari 'three days before but it was too late😭(The Second shop called Oxymoron 'Onari 'was opened last year near by the head Oxymoron 'Komachi'shop. ) Have a nice Saturday!
Hi ちぽ San! Thank you for the comment! I was very happy to find out someone else also interested at the same restaurant and it's curry dishes!I said I was go to make this,I haven't forget! This really is very special style curry, lots of green herbs to make this refreshing and aromatic! So you are not a fan of coriander,I understand,it's quite strong for many people, but the mix of negi, mitsuba and misuna must be good with this curry too! I love coriander,I had to add a lot! So big budda reopened after maintenance, must be crowded in Kamakura, and also this famous restaurant,I hope you had luck getting a table,I would love to know how you like it! I also noticed you made other curries from the book, they all look delicious, and your photos are beautiful!I also want to make another one,but not decided which... Anyway, thank you my foodie friend!
I wanted to make this with Japanese herbs, for me it's very interesting to see how they go together, but I gave up the idea, getting one type is ok,but all of them were going to be to expensive... Wow,amazing! This is Raycheal San's favorite shop! I have seen the pictures of the place and the curries, and I have been dying to visit, such a stylish restaurant,I really love it's vibe! I didn't realize they have a new shop, they must be doing well! And since you said you need to make reservations three days ago,I guess I have to do that too if I go,I was planning just walk in,I guess it's no point... So Raycheal San live near Kamakura? It's such a charming place, next time I'll go in a weekday so it's less crowded!
