Cotechino with lentil and mostarda

Didn't have time to make anything special this Christmas,but these were good enough for me!Cotechino is an Italian sausage made with pork cheek,head and leg,it was store bought,but I made mostarda myself,pear marinaded in mustard and other spices.

To be honest,I have never tried a genuine mostarda,but I know Italian eats their cold
cuts and sausages with it,there are many ways making it, from the most complicated to very simple,like mine,just lightly cook the diced pear(or other fruits too),and marinade it in a syrup made with mustard seeds and other spices for a few days.As you could imagine,it's a kind of condiment and goes
very well with salty and fatty things.In this dish,I just have a bit of everything in one mouthful.
I always have big ideas what to make for Christmas,but as it draws near,I know it's always impossible simply because I have no time to shop and prepare,so this is very very simple for me,but still mak
makes me happy!

Yeah, it's been a while... Getting lazy plus, I'm trying to eat healthy, so less restaurants' food. But then my homemade dishes are not as presentable as yours, so I kinda stay out of the loop. It's always a visual pleasure looking at the food you made with great presentation.
