Corn and winter melon minestrone/栗米冬瓜粒湯

My mother has been adding corn in her diced winter melon soup ever since I was a kid,it's just recently I realized the similarity of it and the Italian minestrone,both focus on seasonal vegetables and are comforting family dish.This is my version and and I added a few things to resemble minestrone more.The green flower is 'night fragrance flower',well,it has a fragrance but I have no idea what it is,but many winter melon soup recipes call for it.

The idea of this comes from my mother's soup,in summer she makes this 'quick boiled' soup with diced winter melon and corn,very easy to eat and so flavorsome!
One day I suddenly realize it looks a lot like Italian's minestrone,both with many chopped vegetables and very homey!
Usually I think Italian and Japanese mix better,I've also done a wafu minestrone before.But this time Chinese ingredients works very well!
The green flower is called '夜香花',it's not exactly like the bitter菜の花,but more like fresh fragrant flower,traditionally goes with winter melon soup,other than this it's quite rarely used,so I am not too familiar with it...
