Pulut Hitam (Black Glutinous Rice Dessert) #SG51

black glutinous rice
100g
water
2 1/2 cups
pandan leaves tied in knots

organic palm sugar
2 tbsp
cornstarch
1 tsp
organic coconut milk
to serve
organic canned longan

作り方

soak the black glutinous rice in a bowl with water overnight

in a large sauce pot over medium high heat, bring water to a boil. add in the glutinous rice and pandan leaves

turn the heat down to low and let it simmer for 30 minutes or until the rice is soft and puffy. if during the simmering time, the water dries up, add in more water, 1 cup at a time

once the rice is cooked, add in sugar. at this point you can adjust the sweetness. lastly, mix cornstarch with 1 tsp of water to make a slurry. add the slurry into the glutinous rice. stir to combine well and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes

you can serve immediately or let it chill at the fridge before serving. serve with longan and drizzle in coconut milk as desired. voila! pulut hitam!
