We did one too last Saturday, Japans/Korean stuff is very hard to find here in the Netherlands.....but we've discovered an import agency only 1 hours drive away from us. (yay) :-)
1 hour! Makes me feel more grateful! ^_^. I have a Chinese market 30minutes away from me and I can pick up most of what I need but I still cannot get any kimchi in western Massachusetts! (>.<)
To: Cheesywee Kimchi isn't that hard to make yourself really....you just need the special dried Korean pepper powder (we have the www.wangfood.com variant), some (Chinese) cabbage, fish sauce and some patience to get the right fermentation :-) (and we gladly drive some distance for GOOD food! :-)
I may have to try making my own kimchi this summer! Its the time part if the process that makes it difficult with my work schedule. Time to research some simple kimchi-making guides :] !
