Put butter and golden syrup in a saucepan over gentle heat and cook until the butter is melted

Mix the bicarbonate of soda with boiling water and add to the mixture. Stir into dry ingredients

Roll teaspoons of the mixture into balls, flatten slightly and place on lightly greased baking trays, allowing room for spreading

Bake in over for 15 minutes or until golden.

While its still warm, push biscuits into holes of a mini muffin tray and shape around the hole to get a cup shape. You need to work rather quickly. Makes 24

When cooled, gently tip the formed biscuits out of the muffin tin and set aside

Full each cup with custard
