Hasselback apple with toffee sauce

This year I have decided to make as many apple desserts as I could,I love it so much!
Taken from the idea of hasselback potatoes,this way it cooks faster,and when you drizzle that sauce over,it seeps through the slits and nicely flavors the apple!
And about toffee sauce,sometimes I find myself eating it without anything else....

I made the sauce starting with caramel,then add cream,then butter and salt,I am not sure how to call it,butterscotch is also similar,but it tastes like toffee candy to me.

You are right,vanilla ice cream would have been perfect for this,but I think I need to cut down the calories,I have been eating far too much recently....
But really,this sauce is so insanely good,I had no control....
