My mum's... Mung bean sweet soup, most common kind of sweet soup here, what makes it interesting is the addition of kombu,it's been done like this ever since,no other dessert I know has kombu in it,and I have no idea why the creator thought of this, but it works very well. Japanese used kombu extensively in their cooking,I wonder if it is used in the dessert, anyone knows any?
Hello, Rick! Konbu sweet? We have konbu candies, " 昆布飴". It's a candy but made from konbu and colored green. It looks bit strange but not bad. I have a memory of my gran. He rarely gave me a sweet so it's special. Did he think it's good for my health? By the way... I'm going to visit Hong Kong this weekend😆 it's gonna be fun!
Hi Cocoa San! Thank you for the precious information! So there is konbu sweet, that's amazing, must be delicious and food for health too, next time I'll look out for them in Japan! I was just curious,a place that has so many konbu cuisine,I wonder if there is any sweet ones... Wow,awesome,HK welcome you! I hope you have a good time here! Scenery couldn't compare with Japan or England, but our local food should satisfy you! Please let me know if you need help,I don't dine out much therefore I am not exactly familiar with dining scene here, but I still try my best to give you some ideas!
There are all kinds of cuisine in HK,and they all have their fans, but since you are here, you should definitely try dim sum and Cantonese barbecue stuffs, like char siu and roast goose/duck! Haha, you picked something I absolutely hate,雪耳 is tasteless, and has a texture of scrunched up plastic, usually used in soup or sweet soup. But that's just my opinion, there are people who adore it,like my mum...😁,maybe it has it's nutritional value too.I don't think it's hard to cook....anyway please try for yourself!

By the way...

Thank you for the precious information!

I've heard 雪耳 is tasty and good for beauty. Is it easy to cook by myself?
