Since I was making Indonesian food, might as well do this too with the leftover herbs.I tried taking photos at many different angles but still looked unappetizing, but anyone who had tried this should know this is one of the most tasty beef stew in the world! Also very unique with it's 'reverse' cooking technique, sauce reduced and browning the meat at last stage.
Congratulations to your 900 photos! This cuisine reminds me my trip to Malaysia. Since I liked herbal taste, I liked this very much. I can't imagine how to make it, it looks complicated! Looks nice❤️
Hi Cocao San,sorry for late reply! Thank you so much, took me some time to make it to 900th post,I am glad! South East Asian countries have big influences on each other's cuisine,so I'm not surprised to hear you had this in Malaysia, this really is everyone's favorite! It shouldn't be complicated for good cook like you, just take some patience, that's all. Getting some of the ingredients could be challenging in Japan, like galangal, fresh turmeric, lime leaf, salam leaf...but I think you could make without some of them, let me know if you want to try,I'll take you through!
Did you mix spices by yourself? It's too complicated for me to guess what kind of spices are used. Did you use coconut milk as well? Anyway. I love Rengdang❤️. Love it's sweetness. I also like cabbage Sayur rode.
I did mixed them myself, there are many ingredients,a little hard to pick them up individually, but they are all the usual SE Asian ones! There is coconut milk in it too, essential! Very complicated flavours, sweetness is at the fore front,I love it too.Not familiar with cabbage sayurrode, couldn't find anything about it too,I am sorry....
Hi Lara,I am terribly sorry, how could I must your message,my bad! But you are so kind, many SE Asian dishes really don't look convincing, but taste incredible! I never been to Indonesia too,but luckily there are a few Indonesian restaurants here,I think they make authentic enough food! This is the signature dish of Indonesia.I am sure there are many Indonesian dishes that don't require spices, but this one is regarded as a curry',I used coriander seed, cumin, turmeric, galangal, dried chili, lemongrass, cassia bark, clove, star anise and many more...
rick,Don't be sorry for that!! It doesn't matter. Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately,I think it is hard to find some indonesian restaurants here. I'd really want to try Indonesian dishes, especially this one! I'm sure to have it someday!
