Black forest cake

plain flour

cocoa powder

vanilla extract

butter (melted)

double cream

cherry
chocolate

Preheat oven at 180°C /350°F .
Lightly grease and line the bottom of the cake pan with greaseproof paper.

Sift flour and cocoa powder

In a mixing bowl add the eggs and sugar and mix untill light and fluffy about 10 mins

Add the sifted flour and gently fold in the egg mixture. Fold in the vanilla and melted butter . (Careful not to deflate the cake batter)

Pour the batter in the cake pan and bake for 40 minutes or until risen and just shrinking away a little from the sides.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.

i made my own syrup for the cake.
Bring water and sugar to a boil, add some cocoa and coffee to the syrup and mix well. Simmer for 1 min and leave to cool.
( i didn't measure the ingredients for the syrup 😅😅)

Whip the cream until stiff peaks. (i added some chocolate in mine)

Cut the cake in 3 layers and drizzle some syrup on the layers

Place 1 layer of cake on a serving plate and spread a thin or thick ( as you like ) layer of cream and sprinkle some cherry(optional).Repeat with the other layers

Frost the cake with the remaining cream and decorate with chocolate and cherry.
(I put melted my chocolate and put it in between each layer in place if the cherry😋😋)

You can put the amount of cherry as you like.
You can decorate the cake with grated chocolate or melted one can be good too. you can use any type of chocolate you want.
i made my own syrup but you can use any other syrup or juice to drizzle over .
