Clean and chop the onion. In a deep frying pan, heat the oil and add the onion, garlic and carrot. Fry them till translucent and add minced meat and half chopped beacon. When the meat crumbles and browns(10min), lower the fire and add washed rice and all the spices(paprika powder, veg salt, pepper). Remove from the stove and cook slightly.

Wash well and select the whole sauerkraut leaves, drain and take out the hard parts of the root from the middle of the leaves. In the middle of each one, place a tbs of meat mix and roll folding first the sides and then rolling up. Make sure to close them well, not to roll out while being cooked.

Cover bottom of the earthenware pot or cooking pot with spare leaves of sauerkraut. Place the rolls on top and cover with remaining beacon. Sprinkle 1/2tsp paprika powder, cover with bay leaves and pepper corns. Pour over hot water enough to cover and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium low and cook for the remaining 3hours.
