Tomato rice

I thought I am well informed about food,but it was my colleague who told me about this new craze in HK,cooking rice with fresh tomatoes in it,along with other stuffs too,simply mixed through and eat.This idea originates from Japan,so I guess my Japanese friends here are familiar with this.I used min
mini tomatoes, dashi, shimeji, chicken,油揚げ,egg yolk, parsley(wanted to use mitsuba but sold out).
油揚げが入ってるから和風ですね〜(゚∀゚) でもトマト。和洋ミックスかな?

The craze is here in Singapore as well but I have yet to cook this dish

It was my plan to make a wafu one,everything ingredient is used in Japanese cuisine,except parsley,I wanted to use mitsuba but it has sold out,and I found parsley in my fridge...But I love this very much,so I will do yofu version next,(you probably guess there is cheese involved!)

No doubt!I guess it must have started by all those cast iron pot lovers too!It really is a good way to use them,simple to prepare and everything in one single pot,utterly delicious too!Please try it,I would love to see your version!

I couldn't decide which stage of cooking I should use,so this idea came up,I am glad you approved,because you're always good with this kind of things!
I didn't know about the tomatoes rice craze too,and probably because I don't have Facebook.But it's a good idea,easy and delicious.
Next time I'll do a yofu one,with large tomato and water level needs to be adjust too.
