瘦肉冬瓜蓉湯/豚肉とうがんおろしスープ/grated winter melon soup

Summer Cantonese soup,taken from the idea of 冬瓜盅which served inside a whole winter melon in restaurants.Chunks of winter melon and water(or stock)are blended into a thick purée(or use a おろし),and boil with,lean dice pork,dried shitake,dried scallop,diced prawn(豚肉、干ししいたけ、干貝、エビ),just for a few minutes.
also added these fragrant flower bud call 夜香花,but not necessary.Also add crab(かに),lotus seed,Chinese ham if you want .

I have never seen 夜香花. How does it taste? Is it often used in your country?

Thank you and resnap too!This flower is light and delicate,and it's seasonal,only shows up in summer, I haven't seen this being used much apart from this dish.But I heard it could be fried scramble eggs with.

This is a pretty new dish to me too!A colleague saw this on TV and made it,I tried and instantly fell in love with it.Winter melon is usually cut into chunks or dice in Cantonese soup,but this is grated(or blended) when still raw,and becomes this slushy texture when cooked.Just remember not to boil
