While I has some red miso,I thought should try this,always fascinated to see this very dark oden over the internet,but I have never tried an actual one before,don't know how it should taste,what kind of red miso used and what to put into it. This is just an experimental thing to have a an initial taste,any advice is welcome!
Hi Rizmu,this got you surprise?I am happy to hear!Just recently I thought of this very special oden a lot,after I talk to someone very familiar with Nagoya. But I am not sure if it's authentic,I know nothing about the difference of red miso(s),and what is right to put it.This time I actually found a miso labelled as '赤味噌',so I bought it,otherwise 八丁味噌 is also available too.I realise 焼き豆腐and 厚揚け are standards,but I have a box of plain tofu in the fridge,and had too much to eat already... Radish was so good,really took on red miso! I was able to buy very good radish recently!I enjoyed this so much,quite different to the kind of oden I had before! I did my best to reproduce this in HK,next time I want to try the original in Nagoya!

I got the miso in Japanese supermarket,labelled as 赤味噌,otherwise 八丁味噌is always available.I am not sure if these are suitable,but that's the best I could reproduce here!
