Warm and sweet,perfect for winter.Chinese cuisine has many sweet soups,I only knew recently Japanese also has this one,but I went for a simple version and made it with red bean paste,one day I will try making from scratch,like Rizmu has.What a happy coincidence me and foodie friend made the same thing!

I was happy to find out we did the same thing,may be its winter time,a warming sweet soup is all we think of!But mine is too easy,can't compare to the work you have put into it,next time I hope to try making from dried bean,pressure cooker is time saving,I will watch the level of beans otherwise there might be a kitchen disaster. The photo was taken at home,the regular place,just put a plant in front,stick you phone near the leaves and you will get this kind of effect,easy!You are too humble,your photos are always excellent! Yes,you guessed right,it's houjicha,I love it cold or drink,and any dessert made with it too!Actually I didn't know what is best to drink with zensei,just that I felt like drinking houjicha,I guess I picked the right one!
